I have been told to write more about the game instead of the ingame drama, which has turned me into an attention-seeking 12-year old troll. Now i could say that if you want to read about the game, go to the forums, but as i really don't want to lose my 3-4 readers i have to do some crowd-pleasing :). So i thought i would compose a few tips for my fellow Necromancers, when it comes to PvP. Hopefully, other classes might appreciate this as well, as you can see our weaknessess might be exposed!
This post entails 1 vs 1 only, not minigames or other mass-PvP. This information is also only about Nightfall, as i think Reanimation sucks as it is now.
First of all, here is my build:
http://www.conanarmory.com/feat.aspx?id=9#::cf30ebe2fef2efaf2efdef2e2fe2fefe3f2ef2ef2ebf3e2f:
Preparing:Before you start challenging people, make sure you have your most important spells bound to your keys. A "clicking" necro will die very fast, trust me. You will want to bind the following:
Mark of the Devourer, Gelid Bones, Pesential (sp?) Blast, Worms to Flesh, Lifestrike, Unimaginable Terror, Deaths Terror, Grip of Death, Purge, Decay, Blasphemous Ruin, Ritual of the Lich, Spellweave and health pots.
You will also need to stack up with some Daggamalt (or better) as well as some 4 hour food, which increases your health some (it saves you from the ToS-one shot)
Hint: Start out light:In the beginning you shouldn't try to duel our bane-classes Assassin and Barbarian as they might ruin all your motivation :). Try on some DT:s and some Rangers, as they die with ease.
What spells to use:Every class you face have their own advantages and disadvantages, and i wont go through every class here. But in generalm this is what i use (and often get away with it):
1. Summon a Life-Stealer to have at your side in every duel.
2. Freeze
3. Frenzy your pet (it will slow your target)
4. Mark of the Devourer
5. Gelid Bones
6. Ice Shackle
7. Life Strike
8. Flesh to Worms
9. Grip of Death
10. Enter Spellweave
Now, depending on your target, i would say that you can kill most cloth-wearers without using GoD. Anothet thing which is CRUICAL is to RUN RUN RUN! I usually run away after point 5, and using a pot when i do it. Your target will then try to catch up, failing to do that as he is slowed. You can also use the environment to get out of Line of Sight.
Running is especially important when you face CC-classes such as Assassin and Barbarian. If you let an assa or barb get close to you, you are dead. When facing an Assa, run until his Avatar of Death has faded, and eventually try to Freeze him. Once frozen, he is dead meat.
Practise makes perfectIn the beginning you will die in most of your fights, but as you fight more and more you will become better. Don't let losses get you down.
